Saving homeless pets lives
Each year 10-15 million pets are abandoned in the U.S. Of those, 6-8 million enter shelters, and an estimated 3-4 million are euthanized -simply because they do not have a loving home. To help address pet overpopulation, PetSmart Charities, Inc., was established in 1994 as a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization to champion the cause of saving the lives of homeless pets.
Since 1994, PetSmart Charities has become a leading funder of animal welfare agencies across North America, donating more than $42 million to animal welfare programs and helping to save the lives of more than 2.6 million pets through its support of 840 adoption centers inside PetSmart stores.
PetSmart Charities, Inc., working with a local Arizonian design firm wanted to add in functionality to allow stories of hope to be submitted, managed and edited in real-time by the caring staff behind their rehabilation efforts. PetSmart Charities, Inc., turned to Affordable Magic.
